The milkweed pod is gone because my son tore it apart to see the seeds, but he replaced it with a cherry tomato picked from the garden that is the backdrop to the vase.
P.S. Wishing you much success tomorrow as you launch your new career as a music teacher!

Angelonia
I arrived back in Arkansas very tired and very hot. Most of my plants were in great need of watering, so I set up the sprinklers with the hope that a good soak would make everything feel better. This one plant I put in a container with several other flowers including a lantana and vinca. This particular pot was thriving, so I decided to use the Agelonia as my first vase cutting. It is such a pretty little flower. I wish I could capture the inner beauty of the flower, but my little camera would not do it justice. The green leaves in the background are a lirope from my flower bed.
Milkweed and Maple : 2
This is the same arrangement from yesterday except that I added a milkweed seed pod, and the leaves and flowers are wilting just a little. I was watering the garden and saw that the pod had opened up. The little feathery seeds are beautiful-- both floating on the wind or lined up and packed in their pod.
